Freyja’s refit has commenced and as usual the boat will be open for work parties EVERY SUNDAY from now until the end of March.
The boat will be opened at 10 am by one of the Yacht Husband’s Team, who will be on hand to give advice as well as to work themselves.
The boat will close at dusk or at 5 pm, whichever is the earlier.
This is an opportunity not just for you two work towards improving our yacht, but also to learn more about her yourself. How many of you for example have seen what she really looks like under the water? Do you know where all those water intakes and exhausts really are?
The boat is easy to find. Stand in Fox’s yard, with the boat hoist on your left and the road to the Chandlers on your right. Straight ahead are the laid-up boats, and Freyja is at the far end nearest the river. Lunch is available in Fox’s Club from February onwards, and just across the road in the Oyster Reach all year round; or of course bring your own.
This is an opportunity not only to put something back into the club that gives us so much, but also a chance to meet other people in the club, especially skippers who might be encouraged to offer you’re a berth, or for skippers a chance to meet potential crew.
This is my last refit before handing over the reins to Tom Tooley. I hope to see you there.
