During our week on Pegasus we travelled from Enkhuizen through the lock to Marken on the Markermeer, a very pretty little village on what was once an Island with a thriving fishing harbour before the dyke was built cutting them off from the Zuidersee. There is now a causeway joining it to the mainland but they are trying to preserve a lot of the old buildings and we visited their little museum in what had once been six homes. .
