What does RYA recognition mean?
How much do the courses cost?
Introductory and Taster Sails

Come on board for a taster sail. A day sail gives you the chance to explore the rivers Orwell or Stour. If the weather is fine you can poke your nose out into the open sea. Stay on board over night and you could visit the Walton Back Waters and get the full flavour of offshore sailing sampling the social life of sailing.
Start Yachting
This is little more formal than an introductory under the coaching of a RYA Cruising Instructor. Stay on board for 2 nights and 2 days and learn the basics of sailing and seamanship. After the course you will be familiar with the basics of sailing and be given a Certificate of completion. You will only need to do a further 3 nights and 3 days on board to receive the full Competent Crew Certificate.
RYA Competent Crew (5 days on board)

This course lasts for 5 nights and days and you will learn the basics of seamanship and helmsmanship including rope work and familiarisation with the safety equipment and procedures. You will also undertake a 4 hours night sail. After the course you will be a useful crewmember and get a Certificate of completion.
